Sesc Interlagos in Brazil joined in the European Mile from across continents with a tutorial video intended to help beginners and more experienced runners ease back into exercise in the right way. The online event was steamed live on the main celebration day of the European Mile 5 June 2021.

Trainers Cleber Carlos Ferreira and Ronaldo da Silva from Sesc Interlagos led the viewers (in Portuguese) through some warm up exercises, focusing on getting their technique right to avoid injury, and shared fun facts about running, leading into an intense but motivating 20-minute workout.

The workout is presented in a way so beginners can follow it at home and learn the correct execution of the exercises, while experienced runners can improve their skills or make their regular runs fun by listening to the instructions while out running.

Sesc’s trainers showed that starting the day by walking or running 20 minutes (approximately one mile) can be a great way to make physical activity a regular part of daily life.

The event was a part of the EU-supported European Mile project, which is still happening! RUN, WALK OR ROLL and collect your miles to donate them to The Daily Mile Foundation here.
