Join our European Mile webinar with Derby County Community Trust
ISCA is hosting the first of a series of European Mile webinars this Wednesday 14 April with Emma Pilgrim, who is the Fundraising and Events Manager at Derby County Community Trust. The webinar, ‘A practical example of organising running events for a charitable cause’, will give an overview of the Derby County Community Trust, UK, and the Derby 10K history of the event, charitable aspect of the race, logistics of organising a mass participation event and showing your impact.
Emma has been the Event Manager for the Derby 10K for six years and the event is the largest mass participation running event in Derby City, which attracts over 5000 entrants and raises thousands of pounds for local charities. As a volunteer, she is also responsible for organising cycling and gymnastics events for local sports clubs.
The webinar is part of the European Mile project, which is an Erasmus+ Sport-supported free event celebrating the joy of moving again at a gentle pace – by running, walking or rolling a mile – after long periods of lockdown. Anyone with an interest in short distance running, walking and moving on two wheels can create their own event or donate their miles during 2021 to take part. By joining in, you’ll be moving together with people around Europe. The main celebration of the European Mile takes place on 5 June 2021.
