The European Mile Poland national event will be held on-line and aimed mainly at preschool and early school age children to encourage them to have some fun on-line and provide equal access to all children from different locations.
The event will last 20-25 minutes, including the introduction and final cool down. The main activity will take about 15 minutes – the average time it takes to walk a mile. The children will be invited to join an on-line walking activity enriched by engaging storyline about a kitten called Mile, who has lost its puppets while travelling across Europe. During this special trip we will visit several European locations, as a tribute to common goals and values. The trip will start in Wrocław (Poland) and then will lead the participants to Paris (France), Rome (Italy) and London (England). The story promotes walking as a mean of transport in a home city or in a city we visit during holidays.
The event will take place on the 4th of June, 11:00 and will be streamed via Facebook and YouTube.

The EUROPEAN MILE is one of our brand new events, that we are organising, as an official European Week of Sport event. The concept of the EUROPEAN MILE is designed to build a bridge between ISCA and European Week of Sport. It will focus on using public streets for citizens’ activities and mobility, and thus celebrate both the heathy and environmentally friendly modes of transport, and the broader benefits of physical activity. In addition, EUROPEAN MILE is part of the year-round ISCA campaign NowWeMOVE, which has the vision of getting 100 million more Europeans active in sport or physical activity by 2020.
