In Italy the European Mile events will take place in 17 towns, from North to South, mainly in the month of June. Uisp local committees and sport association will organise open air paths open to all, to promote wellbeing and healthy life styles.
Campaign in Italy has been welcomed as an occasion to rediscover body and movement, to re-start after a long forced pause. The Mile’s events will be often combine with Move Weeks events, and will be contaminated by the combination of several activities: walk and dance, walk and fit… Also location will be mixed: in some case in mountains, in some case in towns, by individual or by schools.
The flagship event will be in Rome on June the 5th, in an urban park called “Riserva dell’Aniene”, and there will be a combination of walk and dancing exercises.
All activities will respect the local laws for the containment of pandemic Covid-19.
Partners in European Mile include:
The EUROPEAN MILE is one of our brand new events, that we are organising, as an official European Week of Sport event. The concept of the EUROPEAN MILE is designed to build a bridge between ISCA and European Week of Sport. It will focus on using public streets for citizens’ activities and mobility, and thus celebrate both the heathy and environmentally friendly modes of transport, and the broader benefits of physical activity. In addition, EUROPEAN MILE is part of the year-round ISCA campaign NowWeMOVE, which has the vision of getting 100 million more Europeans active in sport or physical activity by 2020.
